Dear
Friend,
Please read
this and tell me if it resonates with you:
You
are walking down the sidewalk and glance to the right. You see a reflection
of your self in the plate glass window and all your molecules cringe. You
look away in pain and then glance back again. "How can I look this way?"
And
all the pain swirls back, all the anguish of feeling ashamed, ugly, out
of control and fat washes over you.
That
trigger is always there, sort of like an aftertaste, right under the surface.
It doesn't matter what you say on the outside. Doesn't matter how much
work you have done to accept yourself just the way you are. All those affirmations
only push that real shame of being fat down deeper.
We
may learn to "accept" the body we have, but we always, always know that
it isn't really right. It is not really our true body. It doesn't
match our inside self. Somewhere, deep inside is the body that we yearn
to have but are so far away from, we accept a life of disconnection.
Our
resignation may take many forms. We may simply not talk about
it. We may covertly try one more diet plan and never tell for fear that
the people around us will known once again that we can not stick with it.
We
may put up a great show that "big is beautiful" - we carry ourselves
with grace and pride. On the outside. On the inside, one more plate glass
window always lurks to steal our confidence if even for a moment.
A New Solution
Are
you fat and still looking for a solution that works? Have you
tried every diet plan and still haven't achieved what you dream of? It
may be that you are sugar sensitive and that regular diets will NOT work
for you.
If
you are sugar sensitive, you have a unique body. You respond to food differently
from other people. Because of your special body chemistry you
can't "just say no." This is not your fault. It is NOT a function of your
will power or discipline. It is the way your body works.
Normal people who are overweight
will cut calories, burn more than they eat, have little emotional attachment
to food and simply lose weight in a reasonable straightforward manner.
Sugar
sensitive people do not function this way. And the way we have to lose
weight is entirely different. Let's take a look at whether you
are in the right place.
Check the boxes that apply
to you:
If you checked three or
more boxes, you have come to the right place. If you checked ten or more
boxes, keep reading. I may have a solution that can change your life.
Ten
years ago, I was where you are now. I was very overweight; I
was moody, impulsive and went from rage to resignation. I had tried everything
except weight loss medication. And I was in despair about ever finding
a way to stop the yo-yo diets and the panic I felt every time the scale
moved up another pound. And I know you are feeling the same thing now.
| "I am DESPERATE to lose weight."
"SO ashamed of how I look now."
" I am now probably 75 pounds
overweight. I hid the scale so that I don't feel compelled to look down
and die another death."
|
I thought
it was my fault and if I just "got it right," I could get thin and be healed.
I
tried a new food plan and something quite extraordinary happened. First
I got clear and stable, and then I lost weight. I loved losing the weight,
but I was even more excited about how I felt.
The
fog lifted, I was spontaneous but not impulsive, I became responsive
rather than reactive. I listened instead of shooting off at the mouth.
I persisted rather than giving up. I felt that finally, after all those
years the person on the outside matched the person on the inside.
I
KNEW that something very profound was happening. It was much bigger than
a diet. Something had happened in my brain. I didn't understand it yet,
but I knew it in every part of who I was.
I started on a journey of
understanding the biochemistry of what I was personally experiencing.
I started working with my clients on changing diets. They experienced the
same miraculous shift in how they felt.
After I saw these changes
in thousands of people, (click
here to hear their stories) I went back to school to learn the
science of what I was experiencing. I got a Ph.D. in the process. I started
the field of addictive nutrition. I wrote a book.
The book, Potatoes Not Prozac,
addressed the issue of sugar sensitivity and how food can alter brain chemistry.
I
didn't talk about weight loss. I didn't want to go there yet.
And people loved the book.
They wrote me over and over saying they felt that they had FINALLY come
home to a story that made sense. They finally understood about their unique
body chemistry. And they finally felt a sense of hope and possibility of
getting well.
I set up a web site. And now,
I began hearing from people all over the world. We all share the same story.
Sugar sensitivity makes us crazy. Sugar sensitivity makes us fat and it
can
be healed.
And
as it is healed, we discover that not only are we crazy, fat, moody and
impulsive, but we are also sensitive, highly intuitive, gifted, creative,
compassionate and profoundly in touch with others.
But we are rarely in touch
with our bodies with that same sense of giftedness. It starts with being
fat, but the story is much deeper.
As
people did the plan in my first book, they started talking about "radiance",
a place I define as being clear, focused, energized, optimistic, mobilized,
funny and really, really joyful.
Not only did they talk about
it, they lived it. It wasn't coincidence. It wasn't just my own personal
story, this process really, really worked. The
promise I offered was real and was powerful.
Many people lost weight
naturally, spontaneously. They changed their diets and the weight dropped
away. They were delighted, of course. And then there were the others. They
felt radiant, but they were still fat. They said to me, "Kathleen, I love
radiance and I want to have a body that suits me." "I am ready to lose
weight."
They
asked and I listened. I put together a plan for losing weight.
It builds on the biochemistry of the first book and it adds in the other
pieces. The need to heal the feelings, the importance of understanding
your own style, the power of community and support.
The
plan is not magic. It's not glitzy. I don't promise thirty pounds in thirty
days. It's actually pretty boring. But, it really, really, really works.
It changes everything. Starts with your chemistry, goes to your heart and
rearranges everything.
You get your life. You get
the promise of your birthright. It's pretty powerful stuff. And most of
all, it works.
Now, for many of you, that
all will seem pretty far away. You are in so much pain about being overweight,
that the idea of getting a life will just seem silly. You just know that
you HAVE TO lose weight. If you lose weight, everything will be okay. Life
will work and the pain will stop.
You
are in so much pain (even if you never, ever talk about it) that you will
do anything, anything to make it go away. And I promise that here is a
way for you to heal. You do not have to be fat anymore. You do not have
to hurt any longer. I have a solution and I know the way out. I can guide
you step by step through the territory that has been so difficult for you.
In the past, we have had the
option of reading a book by ourselves, going to a 12-step program or purchasing
an expensive diet plan. I wanted something more than that. I wanted you
to understand "why" you respond to food the way you do, I wanted you to
learn how to create something that suited your own specific needs and most
of all I wanted you to experience the power of the healing community we
have developed through PnP.
I LOVE the web. It is interactive.
It is immediate. It gives us access to one another no matter where you
live. I wanted to build on the power the web offers.
Here's
what your plan will do for you:
